Changing a User's Charge Rate

At any point throughout an employee's employment, their charge rates may vary. An Owner, Process Administrator, Manager, or Project Manager have permissions to edit an employee's charge rate. Managers and Project Managers will only be able to view and edit employees within their department and any sub-departments.

User permissions required: Owner, Process Administrator, Manager or Project Manager

Changing default User Charge Rates in Administration – use this setting to change all default charge rates for new and existing users. This can be changed for individual users with the User Management method.

  1. Go to Main Navigation > Administration > Default Settings > Timesheet Settings
  2. Click Edit
  3. Change the charge rates as required
  4. Click Save

Please Note, changing a charge rate in administration will change the default settings for the entire company, this means any users who are using the default company settings will have their charge rates changed.

Changing a specific User's Charge Rate in User Management – use this setting to change the charge rates for a specific user

  1. Go to Main Navigation > User Management > User Setup
  2. Click the Edit User icon next to the user you wish to edit
  3. Select Charge/Mileage Rates
  4. Click Edit and change the rates as required
  5. Click Save

Changing a User's Charge Rate by Customer – use this setting to change the charge rates for a customer. This will not affect the charge rates for the user outside of assigned time to the specific customer.

  1. Go to Main Navigation > Customers & Suppliers > Customers
  2. Click the Edit Customer icon next to the customer you wish to edit
  3. 3.    Select the Assigned Employees tab
  4. Click the Edit User Charge Rates icon next to the user you wish to edit or click Edit All Users
  5. Change the charge rates as required
  6. Click Update

Changing a User's Charge Rate by Project – use this setting to change the charge rates for a specific project. This will not affect the charge rates for the user outside of assigned time to the specific project. This charge rate will supersede any customer charge rates.

  1. Go to Main Navigation > Projects > Project List
  2. Click the Edit Project icon next to the project you wish to edit
  3. Under Assigned Users, click the Edit User Charge Rates icon next to the user you wish to edit or click Edit All Users
  4. Change the charge rates as required
  5. Click Update User
